Responsibilities
Profitable, successful manufacturer is adding an Engineering Technician to their team in their specialized manufacturing environment. As the Engineering Technician, you will report to a Production Manager with almost seven years of experience with the company. You will be responsible for the following daily tasks:
- Collaborate with engineering and operations to develop and improve solutions for manufacturing
- Identify, diagnose, and resolve production floor issues to minimize downtime
- Assist in root cause analysis of quality issues and provide feedback to implement corrective and preventive actions
- Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to enhance efficiency and improve product quality
- Provide technical support to machinists, including tooling, fixturing and machine issues
- Monitor the floor and ensure that production is running smoothly
- Update and review blueprints, ensuring they accurately reflect current production requirements and standards
- Maintain thorough documentation of issues and process changes
- Although rare, backup Operators when needed to run equipment
- Other duties as directed by the Production Manager
This is a hands-on position that requires qualified candidates to be on the production floor up to 80% of their day and willing to fill in, as needed, on the shop floor. The primary goal of this position will be to work closely with operations to improve quality standards, continuous improvement and support production. Candidates should enjoy mentoring and coaching others, problem-solving, have excellent written and verbal communication skills, enjoy building rapport on the floor and working within a team of manufacturing professionals. REQUIREMENTS For The Engineering Technician
- Minimum of a high school diploma or GED
- At least 3-5 years of work experience in a similar role supporting production, such as engineering, quality, operations, etc.
- Experience working in machining environments, including horizontal machining
- The ability to read blueprints
- Microsoft Office experience, including basic Word and Excel skills
Skills Preferred But NOT Required
- Job shop experience
- Experience with continuous improvement activities
- Mechanical aptitude
- SolidWorks and/or Mastercam software
- Root cause analysis and corrective actions
- Tooling troubleshooting
