Job summary

Starr Boiler and Machinery is seeking a highly skilled Machinery Specialist to join our team. Based in the Midwest, you will conduct boiler and pressure vessel inspections to ensure safety and regulatory compliance for our clients across Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan.

The ideal candidate will hold an NB commission with IS endorsement or be able to obtain one within 12 months, possess strong client communication, and be proficient with ASME NBIC standards.

This full-time role is open to candidates based in Ohio, Indiana, or Michigan. As a Machinery Specialist, you will play a crucial role in conducting boiler and pressure vessel inspections and ensuring the safety and compliance of our clients' machinery and equipment. Risk Assessment capability is a plus.

• A successful candidate will have a NB commission with 'IS' endorsement or the ability to obtain a NB commission within 12 months of hire.
• Experience in conducting jurisdictional inspections of regulated boilers and pressure vessels and commissions in Ohio, Indiana, and Michigan are a plus.

• A candidate will be a well-motivated self-starter with good organizational skills and excellent communication skills, with the ability to interact effectively with clients at all levels.
• They will have a proven ability to work independently and manage a multi-state territory.
• They will be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
• They will be capable of performing internal boiler examinations, requiring physical capability and attention to detail.
• They will be able to communicate effectively with all levels of client management, providing clear and concise reports and recommendations.
• They will be capable of conducting jurisdictional inspections of regulated boilers and pressure vessels, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
• They will have proficient knowledge of ASME, NBIC, and jurisdictional regulations.
