Responsibilities

  • Learn basic boiler and pressure vessel operations.
  • Learn ASME, NBIC, and regulatory requirements through instruction and study.
  • Act as apprentice conducting jurisdictional inspections of boilers and pressure vessels; ensure safety compliance.
  • Perform 300 boiler and pressure vessel inspections under supervision.
  • Complete knowledge checks and practical applications for in-service inspections.
  • Demonstrate effective communication.
  • Pass National Board exam to obtain IS designation within 12 months.

Associate Machinery Specialist

Position Overview: Starr Boiler and Machinery Division is seeking qualified and motivated applicants to fill apprenticeship positions for our Associate Machinery Specialist positions. This full‑time role is open to candidates residing within the U.S. holding an engineering degree, or High school diploma with 3 years’ experience in boiler servicing and/or operation of high‑pressure boilers.

Successful candidates will have a clean driving record with a valid driver’s license, pass a background check, be a motivated self‑starter with good organizational skills, excellent communication skills, and the ability to interact effectively with clients and coworkers. They will be proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint. They will be capable of performing internal boiler inspections, with the ability to pass a fit‑for‑duty evaluation.

Travel and overnight stays are required.

Key Responsibilities

Disclosure

The salary range for this position is between $95,000.00 - $110,000.00
