Job summary

Anduril Industries in Costa Mesa, CA is seeking a Machine Vision Engineer for 2nd shift to join the Manufacturing Automation team. You’ll design and deploy machine vision solutions for automated production, quality inspection, and process monitoring on production lines.

You will select and test cameras, lenses, lighting, and controllers, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and help train staff on operation and maintenance of vision equipment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Physics, Robotics, or related field.
• 2+ years hands-on experience or academic project work with machine vision systems in manufacturing environments.
• Exposure to industrial vision hardware ecosystems (Cognex, Keyence, Basler, Sick).
• Foundational coding skills in Python, C#, or C++.
• Basic understanding of cameras, lenses, lighting, and sensor calibration.
• Basic knowledge of how vision systems interface with PLCs and robotics.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement machine vision systems for industrial automation, inspection, defect detection, and monitoring.
• Select, test, validate, and maintain vision hardware including cameras, lenses, lighting, and controllers.
• Assist with installation, testing, and commissioning of vision systems on production lines.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams and receive mentorship from senior engineers.
• Troubleshoot vision system errors and perform root-cause analysis.
• Assist in training production staff on operation and maintenance of vision equipment.
