POSITION SUMMARY:

The IH&S Oak Harbor Production Supervisor is responsible for maintaining a safe and collaborative work environment. The supervisor oversees daily activities related to support, production, and problem-solving within their area.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

Demonstrated success in a manufacturing environment with at least three (3) years of increasing responsibility and leadership experience.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

• Support all direct reports and ensure team meets safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals.
• Conduct regular 1:1 meetings, provide career coaching, and give feedback on performance and behavior.
• Adhere to all company policies.
• Interview and train new hires.
• Experience with CNC and manual machining operations.
• Optimize resource utilization and develop process improvements to increase efficiency while maintaining quality.
• Familiar with CNC programming and CAD software.
• Read and interpret technical drawings.
• Apply knowledge of Continuous Improvement and Lean Manufacturing methodologies.
• Facilitate Daily Management to engage the team and drive improvements.
• Identify obstacles and inefficiencies; propose solutions.
• Assess skills and training needs for the team.
• Assign daily staffing and prioritize work.
• Address safety concerns proactively.
• Support production during shifts.
• Implement visual management tools for scheduling and work cell stability.
• Manage learning ladder programs and keep documentation current.
• Promote teamwork, participation, and collaboration.
• Ensure weekly cycle counts are performed.
• Investigate and resolve work order, material, quality, and inventory issues.
• Handle disciplinary actions with professionalism and objectivity.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

• Focus on details over extended periods.
• Visual acuity for reading screens and documents.
• Good speaking and hearing abilities for communication.
• Mobility and ability to travel via automobile, airplane, train, or bus.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS:

• Understanding of Lean and Continuous Improvement principles.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, and preferably JDE.

• Technical aptitude and good physical, visual, and mental acuity.
• Excellent attention to detail and communication skills.
