Job summary

Process Technology in Northeast Ohio is seeking a Machine Shop Supervisor to lead day-to-day operations, mentor machinists, and drive quality and efficiency in a full-time, non-exempt role. You will implement Lean initiatives, manage safety and housekeeping, and coordinate with management to achieve production goals, with Mastercam, CNC, and G&M code experience valued.

Responsibilities

The Machine Shop Supervisor position is part of the Operations Team. This is a full-time, non-exempt position. This position will require a broad range of responsibilities to ensure success. Some examples of these responsibilities are listed below (but are not limited to the following):

• Oversee the day-to-day operations of the machine shop and provide technical assistance to machinists when needed.
• Drive out waste throughout the manufacturing operation through the deployment of the Lean methodology.
• Maintain and promote a safe work environment, ensuring team members follow safety protocols and procedures.
• Drive a continuous improvement culture by involving team members in problem solving and decision making as well as recognizing them for exceptional work.
• Implement and manage departmental goals to assist in reaching company goals.
• Serve as liaison between department and management.
• Ensure area housekeeping is up to expectations.
• Maintain time and production records.
• Attend and participate in production meetings.
• Communicate pertinent and relevant production issues to other supervision and management.
• Schedule overtime according to production and business needs.

Requirements

• Demonstrated knowledge of machining and machine shop operations
• Mastercam experience
• CNC manufacturing experience
• Proven ability to program at the machine utilizing G&M Code Programing
• Prior supervisory experience
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to foster and maintain positive working relationships.

Compensation

This position is full-time, non-exempt. Compensation typically follows industry median for Northeast Ohio/the Great Lakes region. You may be eligible for an annual bonus. This is a long-term, high accountability role.
