Responsibilities
The Welding Supervisor position is part of the Operations Team. This is a full-time, exempt position. This position will require a broad range of responsibilities to ensure success. Some examples of these responsibilities are listed below (but are not limited to the following):
- Develop and maintain a safe work environment.
- Responsible for welding service quality, workmanship, costs, scheduling, and general performance of the welding department.
- Must become knowledgeable about and adhere to various welding specifications and procedures. Assures the proper training of all assigned team members.
- Foster an atmosphere that promotes continuous improvement of team members and processes, including cross training for flexibility.
- Drive quality improvements and support on-time delivery to meet customer success.
- Continuously assess staffing needs based on business needs.
- Perform administrative duties to support the day-to-day business including approving of time sheets, time off requests and performance evaluations.
Other duties as assigned.
Systems Used
Requirements
- Technical high school and/or trade school graduate in welding
- 3-5 years of TIG welding experience
- Strong mechanical aptitude
- Supervisory training or equivalent experience. Management training is desirable.
- Must be able to communicate and deal effectively with every level of our organization.
- Must have excellent people skills, oral and written communication, leadership, organizational and motivational skills.
- Must be able to interpret and enforce the specifications and procedures related to the department.
Compensation
This position is full-time, non-exempt. Compensation typically follows industry median for Northeast Ohio/the Great Lakes region. You may be eligible for an annual bonus. This is a long-term, high accountability role.
