Position Overview

A growing precision manufacturing company serving aerospace, defense, space, and medical industries is seeking an experienced Machine Shop Manager to lead daily operations across a multi-shift CNC machining environment. This is a hands-on leadership role focused on driving production performance, developing teams, improving operational efficiency, and ensuring exceptional quality standards. The ideal candidate has a strong CNC machining background combined with proven experience leading manufacturing teams in a high-precision environment.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of machinists, operators, and technical staff across multiple shifts
• Manage production schedules, capacity planning, staffing, and throughput
• Drive key metrics including on-time delivery, machine utilization, scrap reduction, and labor efficiency
• Ensure compliance with AS9100 and ISO 9001 quality standards
• Partner with Engineering, Quality, Programming, and Scheduling teams to support production goals
• Identify bottlenecks and implement continuous improvement initiatives
• Promote a safe, accountable, and high-performance manufacturing culture

Qualifications

• 8+ years of CNC machining experience
• 3+ years of leadership experience managing production teams of 10+ employees
• Experience overseeing multi-machine, multi-shift manufacturing operations
• Strong understanding of CNC machining processes, GD&T, inspection methods, and precision manufacturing
• Working knowledge of AS9100 and ISO 9001 environments

Preferred but not required

• Aerospace, defense, medical device, or other highly regulated manufacturing experience preferred
• U.S. Person status required due to regulatory requirements
• AS/AA degree in Manufacturing Technology/Tooling preferred
