Job summary

American Aluminum Extrusion is seeking a Machine Shop Manager in Roscoe, IL to lead safe, efficient operations in a busy shop. This role directs production scheduling, quality control, and continuous improvement initiatives to meet customer deadlines and improve workflow.

The ideal candidate will bring at least five years in a machine shop with three years in supervision, strong CNC/CAD/CAM knowledge (Mastercam preferred), and a proven ability to train and coach staff while maintaining safety

Qualifications

Minimum of five years of machine shop experience.
At least three years in a supervisory or management role.
Strong commitment to workplace safety and adherence to safety procedures.
Experience with CNC machining and CAD/CAM software; Mastercam experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Plan and schedule machine shop operations to meet customer requirements and deadlines.
Prepare cost estimates for tooling and finished-part machining.
Coordinate with other departments to prioritize work orders and optimize workflow.
Lead, train, mentor, and coach machine shop personnel.
Coordinate equipment maintenance and troubleshoot malfunctions to minimize downtime.
Monitor KPIs for productivity, quality, and uptime.
