Job summary

Aluminum Precision Products (APP) is an international leader in aluminum forgings. This role leads the machine shop, directing CNC milling and turning operations, driving continuous improvement and meeting KPIs.

You will collaborate with programmers, machinists, and craftsmen to optimize tooling, speeds, and feeds while maintaining safety and quality standards. The position requires 8+ years in a leadership role in machining, with 3-4 axis CNC experience and aerospace familiarity.

Qualifications

• 8+ years of leadership in Machine Shop/Die Shop environments.
• Experience with 3- & 4-axis CNC mills and 2-axis lathes (setting up and programming).
• Excellent oral and written communication with customers, management, and staff.
• Experience in product machining and industrialized equipment/technologies.
• Aerospace experience preferred; LEAN training preferred.
• Experience with CNC and conventional machines; advanced blueprint reading.

Responsibilities

• Lead and direct production teams to optimize setups, scrap reduction, and throughput.
• Ensure on-time production and adherence to KPIs and safety policies.
• Drive continuous improvement projects and root-cause analysis of defects.
• Interface with customers and auditors; justify capital equipment needs.
• Plan machining from blueprints, including tooling, speeds, and feeds.
