Job Summary:

Leading manufacturer is seeking an experienced Machine Shop Manager to oversee machining operations, optimize production, and drive continuous improvement.

Qualifications & Skills:

• Experience: 5+ years in machine shop management within a steel or metal manufacturing environment.
• Education: Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing, Mechanical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in CNC machining, CAD/CAM software, and manufacturing best practices.
• Leadership: Strong team management, training, and conflict resolution abilities.
• Problem-Solving: Ability to analyze production issues and implement effective solutions.

Location and Compensation:

Chicago, Illinois | Permanent | $90,000 - $120,000 per year | Work hours: 8am to 4pm

Responsibilities:

• Plan, coordinate, and oversee machine shop operations to meet production targets.
• Ensure proper maintenance and calibration of machinery and equipment.
• Manage machinists, CNC operators, and other personnel.
• Implement quality improvement initiatives and maintain ISO or other relevant certifications.
• Work with procurement to source materials, tools, and parts efficiently.
• Foster a collaborative and positive work environment, promoting safety, efficiency, and accountability.
• Ensure proper lockout/tagout (LOTO) procedures and safe work practices.
