Job summary

Precision Fuzing and Sensors in Middletown, CT is hiring a Group Leader for the Machine Shop to supervise production, manage schedules, and lead shop staff. The role focuses on maintaining uptime, enforcing safety, and driving efficiency in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

You will mentor machinists, read blueprints, troubleshoot issues, and track quality metrics. First shift, Monday–Friday, with opportunities to optimize processes across the plant.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in machine operation and maintenance with supervisory experience preferred.
• Strong leadership and communication skills with team members and management.
• Knowledge of safety procedures and regulations related to machine operation.
• Excellent problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
• Able to read and interpret blueprints and schematics.

Responsibilities

• Oversee production and employees in the Machine Shop.
• Ensure production schedules are met and machines run at maximum efficiency.
• Monitor a team of machine operators and provide training as needed.
• Ensure safety procedures are followed and machines maintained and repaired as needed.
• Monitor inventory levels and order supplies as needed.
• Collaborate with other departments to coordinate production schedules and deadlines.
• Troubleshoot issues and implement corrective actions.
• Maintain records of production and quality metrics and report to management.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement with management.
