Job summary

Apex Tactical Specialties, Inc. in Peoria, AZ is seeking a Machine Shop Assistant to support production by preparing materials and processing semi-finished parts. On-the-job training is provided on equipment, tools and production workflow.

Full Time – Non-exempt: Monday – Thursday 4/10’s schedule with a 6am start time. Reports to Manufacturing Manager. Salary is $17.00 - $19.00 per hour. The company offers a climate controlled shop and comprehensive benefits.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED.
• Good mechanical skills and experience with micrometers, calipers, gage pins, rulers, computers.
• Reliability, teamwork and a positive attitude.
• Detail oriented to handle small parts in large quantities.
• Must be able to stand for extended periods.
• Ability to repetitively lift 30+ pounds.
• Willingness to learn and improve skills constantly.

Responsibilities

• Post-machining processing of parts, including use of processing equipment to clean and debur parts, hand tools for final cleaning of parts and general inspection of parts for good quality.
• Fill, Empty, and sort parts from small tumble and vibratory deburring machines.
• Bead blast parts and prep for outside finishing.
• Cut raw materials on a band saw.
• Deburr cut materials on belt sander.
• Assistance with shop maintenance
