Job summary

Heizer Aerospace, Inc. is seeking a Machining Assistant to support CNC Machinists in fabrication and production of parts. The role emphasizes safety and clean work areas, with forklift-based material handling and hands-on learning in an in-house training program.

Shifts include 1st shift Monday-Thursday 6:00 am–4:30 pm and 2nd shift 4:30 pm–3:00 am, with a 4-day work week and paid 40 hours for weekend 35 hours. Benefits include health, dental, vision, life insurance, and 401K with company match.

Responsibilities

• Assist CNC Machinist with fabrication and production of required parts.
• Keep area safe and clean.
• Load/unload of parts from machinery with a forklift.
• Differentiate between cutting tools: Endmill, Face Mills, Shell Mills, Drills, Reamers.
• Setup tools in tool holders.
• Install tool holders in machine setup parameters.
• Prepare part for production, install load fixtures.
• Assist Machinist in monitoring machinery during cutting, shoveling chips.
• Maintain general cleanliness of the machining area.
• Other duties as assigned.

Machining Assistant

Assist CNC Machinist with fabrication and production of required parts.

Keep area safe and clean

1st Shift: Monday - Thursday (6:00 am - 4:30 pm.)

2nd Shift: Monday - Thursday (4:30 pm. - 3:00 am.)

Differential

Daytime/Night Shifts - 4-day work week Monday-Thursday, 10-hour days!

Weekend Shift Friday, Saturday, and Sunday- work 35 hours -paid for 40 hours.

In-house training at all levels.

Load /unload of parts from machinery with a Forklift.

We will train you using a ForkLift, Hand Tools, Measuring Instruments such as micrometers, calipers, indicators, radius gages.

Once Acclimated To Environment. You Will Learn To

Differentiate between different type of cutting tools: Endmill, Face Mills, Shell Mills, Drills, Reamers, etc.

Setup tools in tool holders.

Install tool holders in machine set up parameters.

Prepare part for production, Install Load Fixtures,

Clean area.

Assist the Machinist in monitoring machinery during the cutting process, shoveling chips from area.

Maintain general cleanliness of the machining area.

Other duties as assigned.
