Job summary

Caterpillar North Little Rock AR is seeking a Machine Repair Trainee for the 2nd shift to test and repair fully built machines, ensuring safety and quality in all work. You will work on an assembly line or station and support timely delivery of high‑quality products.

Responsibilities include troubleshooting mechanical, hydraulic and electrical defects, using appropriate tools and manuals, and contributing to continuous improvement for safety and efficiency.

Qualifications

• Previous Assembly experience required.
• Work independently.
• Sit or stand for prolonged periods.
• Willingness and ability to adapt to various operations.
• Willingness and ability to lift up to 35 lbs.
• Excellent attendance record.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, hydraulic and electrical defects on machines using limited instructions or repair manuals.
• Operate heavy machinery safely inside and outside the building, on test stands.
• Disassemble, rebuild and reinstall machine components using provided tooling.
• Operate DC electric, pneumatic, and manual torque wrenches; hydraulic press tooling; overhead cranes as needed.
• Assemble mechanical parts and connect hydraulic hoses and electrical connections.
• Drive continuous improvement ideas related to safety, quality and efficiency with peers and support teams.
