Starting wage is $18.50 per hour with potential for experience-based raises; eligible for a $500 hiring/retention bonus and a $100 monthly attendance award, plus every Friday off.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate high-speed SMT equipment to manufacture PCB assemblies.
• Load feeders, trays, reels, boards and materials into production equipment.
• Verify part numbers, values, quantities, and feeder locations against documentation.
• Monitor equipment and production output for correct operation.
• Perform component reel changes and material replenishment as needed.
• Identify and respond to alarms, misfeeds and production issues.
• Complete required production, material, traceability and quality documentation.

Position Summary

The SMT Machine Operator is responsible for operating high-speed Surface Mount Technology equipment used to place electronic components onto printed circuit board assemblies. The operator will set up, load, monitor, and operate SMT production equipment while following work instructions, quality requirements, and established manufacturing procedures.

Previous SMT or electronics manufacturing experience is preferred but not required. The company is willing to train a dependable individual who demonstrates strong attention to detail, mechanical ability, and a willingness to learn.

Essential Duties And Responsibilities

• Set up and operate high-speed SMT equipment used to manufacture printed circuit board assemblies.
• Load component feeders, trays, reels, circuit boards, and other required materials into production equipment.
• Verify that part numbers, component values, quantities, and feeder locations match the production documentation.
• Operate equipment such as solder paste printers, component placement machines, conveyors, and reflow ovens.
• Monitor equipment and production output to ensure the manufacturing process is operating correctly.
• Perform component reel changes and material replenishment as needed.
• Identify and respond to machine alarms, component errors, misfeeds, and other production issues.
• Perform basic troubleshooting and make approved equipment adjustments.
• Inspect circuit boards for missing, incorrect, reversed, damaged, or misaligned components.
• Complete required production, material, traceability, and quality documentation accurately.
• Follow work instructions, drawings, bills of material, assembly documentation, and customer requirements.
• Handle moisture-sensitive devices and other electronic components according to established procedures.
• Follow ESD-control requirements when handling circuit boards and electronic components.
• Communicate equipment problems, material shortages, and quality concerns to the appropriate supervisor or support personnel.
• Maintain accurate component and material identification throughout the production process.
• Assist with product changeovers and equipment cleaning.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area.
• Follow all company safety, quality, and manufacturing procedures.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Previous manufacturing, machine operation, electronics, or SMT experience is helpful but not required.
• Basic mechanical and computer skills.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to identify small components and differences in part markings.
• Ability to read and follow work instructions, bills of material, drawings, and production documentation.
• Ability to perform basic math and accurately record production information.
• Good communication and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a production team.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while maintaining quality and safety.
• Dependable attendance and a willingness to learn are required.

Work Environment And Physical Requirements

• Work is performed in an electronic manufacturing environment around automated, high-speed production equipment.
• The position requires extended periods of standing, walking, and monitoring equipment.
• Frequent handling of component reels, feeders, circuit boards, and production materials is required.
• Must have sufficient visual ability, with or without corrective lenses, to read component markings and inspect small electronic parts.
• Must be able to use computers, touchscreens, hand tools, and production equipment.
• Must follow all machine-guarding, ESD, safety, and personal protective equipment requirements.
• May occasionally be required to lift or move materials weighing up to 25 pounds.

Training

The company will provide training in SMT equipment operation, product setup, component identification, material handling, ESD controls, safety requirements, quality standards, and company manufacturing procedures. The employee must successfully complete required training and demonstrate the ability to operate assigned equipment safely and accurately before working independently.

This position requires a pre-employment background check and drug test.
