Job summary

Elgen Staffing is seeking a dependable Machine Operator to run the Slitter Machine in York, PA. The ideal candidate will read measurements, enter production data accurately, and follow SOPs and quality standards.

Responsibilities include loading/unloading rolls, monitoring tension, inspecting finishes, labeling outputs, and maintaining a clean, safe work area while meeting daily production goals.

Qualifications

• Ability to read a tape measure/ruler.
• Basic computer skills for data entry.
• Basic math skills for measurements and quality checks.
• Good organizational skills to manage materials and batches.
• Effective communication with team members.
• Basic reading and writing skills; legible notes.
• Use of minor tools such as Allen wrenches and other small hand tools.

Responsibilities

• Operate slitter efficiently and productively against set goals.
• Loading and unloading of rolls on slitter.
• Interpret and understand written information (orders, SOPs, lamination and print roll tickets).
• Palletization of finished goods per customer specs.
• Bagging of finished rolls; labeling to ensure traceability.
• Perform quality checks on slit material (dimension, print quality, tension).
• Enter accurate information into computer and production forms.
• Keep machine and surrounding area safe and clean.
• Spot and determine visual defects; cut out defects and splice good material.
• Adhere to all SOPs and department procedures (health, safety, GMP, SQF, environmental).

Our client, a global leader in packaged good solutions, has an immediate need for an experienced Machine / Slitter Operator, to join our winning team in York.

Our candidate of choice will produce a quality product in accordance with company and customer specifications.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Operate slitter efficiently and productively against set goals
• Loading and unloading of rolls on slitter.
• Interpret and understand written information, (orders, SOP’s, Lam. and print roll tickets etc.)
• Palletization, (building pallets of finished goods per customer specifications)
• Bagging of finished rolls
• Quality checks slit material
  • Lay flat/measurement of slit web
  • Print quality/print defects
  • Roll/web tension and integrity
• Enter accurate information into computer and on production forms.
• Print out and attach accurate labels to finished rolls
• Keep machine and surrounding area safe and clean
• Spot and determine visual defects.
• Cut out defects and splice together good material
• Must comply with all general Company-wide standard operating procedures (SOP’s) and any job or department specific SOP’s.
  • SOP’s may cover the areas of (but are not limited to)
    • Employee Health and Safety
    • SQF (Safe Quality Food packager) and GMP (good manufacturing procedures) focused on eliminating contaminates in all packaging manufactured.
    • SGP (Sustainable Green Printer) environmental regulatory procedures and SOP’s.
• SOP’s may cover the areas of (but are not limited to)
