Job summary

Olympic Steel in Streetsboro, OH is seeking a Machine Operator to safely set up and run leveling, sheeting, and console-operated equipment to produce flat sheets per customer specifications. You will read engineered layouts and work from orders to ensure productivity and quality.

The role emphasizes safety, accuracy, and a team-oriented approach, with opportunities to develop skills in measuring, tool operation and basic computer programs used in production.

Qualifications

• High School or GED equivalent preferred.
• Experience in full setup and operation of slitting machine—metal preferred.
• Mechanically inclined, production-oriented and safety and quality conscious.
• General knowledge of crane operation and ancillary lifting devices.
• Basic math skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work under general supervision.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to inspect material for quality conformance through the use of measuring devices and drawings.
• Functional literacy.
• Working knowledge of general computer programs preferred.
• Previous experience with precision instruments preferred.
