Job summary

Olympic Steel is seeking a Machine Operator at Streetsboro, OH to set up and operate leveling, sheeting, and other equipment to produce flat sheets per customer specs. You will read engineered layouts, follow standard procedures, and work safely under supervision while maintaining quality and productivity.

High school is preferred; mechanical aptitude and basic math skills are desirable for this role at Olympic Steel.

Qualifications

• High School or GED equivalent preferred.
• Experience in full set up and operation of slitting machine - metal preferred.
• Mechanically inclined, production-oriented and safety and quality conscious.
• General knowledge of crane operation and ancillary lifting devices.
• Basic math skills.
• Self-motivated with the ability to work under general supervision.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to inspect material for quality conformance through measuring devices and drawings.
• Functional literacy.
• Working knowledge of general computer programs preferred.
• Previous experience with precision instruments preferred.
