Olympic Steel is seeking a Shotblast Operator for the 3rd shift in Plymouth, MN. You will operate Shotblast and related equipment, ensure quality and timely delivery, and perform general warehouse housekeeping. The role requires a HS diploma and mechanical aptitude, with safety and quality in mind.

You will work 3:00pm–11:00pm, Monday through Friday, on-site, with benefits including medical, dental, vision, 401(k), and tuition reimbursement. Prior crane operation knowledge is a plus.

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Strong mechanical aptitude and safety/quality mindset.
• Knowledge of crane operation and lifting devices.
• Detail oriented with ability to inspect material for quality.
• Basic computer literacy.
• Ability to work 3rd shift, 3:00pm–11:00pm, Mon-Fri.

Responsibilities

• Operate Shotblast equipment to meet quality, quantity and delivery targets in a safe manner.
• Perform general cleaning and housekeeping in the warehouse area.
• Operate electronic grinders to smooth and finish parts as needed before/after processing.

Job Description

The Shotblast Operator is responsible for satisfying customer requirements of quality, quantity and delivery, in a safe manner, while maximizing productivity. They perform various production support duties as assigned by supervisor, as well as execute general housekeeping for warehouse. They will be responsible for operating electronic grinders to smooth and/or finish parts prior to and/or following processing.

Pay Range: $24.00 - $28.50 per hour

Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent required.
• Previous experience with laser operations is strongly preferred.
• Mechanically inclined, production oriented, and safety and quality conscious.
• General knowledge of crane operation and ancillary lifting devices.
• Detail oriented with ability to inspect material for quality conformance through the use of measuring devices and drawings.
• Working knowledge of general computer programs is preferred.
• Ability to work on 2nd shift, 3:00pm - 11:00pm, M-F.
