Olympic Steel, Inc. is seeking a Machine Operator - Deslagger (1st Shift) to support production in a safe and efficient manner at our Chambersburg, PA facility.

The role involves operating electronic grinders to smooth and finish parts, while adhering to quality and delivery requirements. Qualified candidates have a high school diploma or GED, basic print-reading ability, training program completion, and a safety-conscious, mechanically inclined mindset.

Qualifications

• High School or GED equivalent.
• Ability to read customer part prints or successful completion of print reading class.
• Successful completion of the appropriate work center training program(s).
• Proper use and care of precision instruments.
• Precisely follow detailed and extensive instructions.
• Mechanically inclined, production oriented and safety and quality conscious.
• General knowledge of crane operation and ancillary lifting devices

Responsibilities

• Operate electronic grinders to smooth and/or finish parts prior to and/or following processing as part of slag/deslag operations.

Job Description

TheDeslag/Grinderis responsible for satisfying customer requirements of quality, quantity and delivery, in a safe manner, while maximizing productivity. They perform various entry-level production support duties as assigned by supervisor, as well as execute general housekeeping for warehouse. They will be responsible for operating electronic grinders to smooth and/or finish parts prior to and/or following processing.
