Job summary

Thyssenkrupp is seeking a Saw Machine Operator for the 1st shift in Wallingford, CT. You will operate saw machines, set up equipment safely, and process materials per customer specs while recording measurements and quality checks.

Qualifications

• Experience operating industrial machinery, preferably saw machines.
• Forklift certification and material handling experience.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physically active tasks.
• Strong safety mindset and ability to work around heavy equipment.
• Basic math, reading, and computer skills.

Responsibilities

• Operate saw machines per work order and setup notes.
• Safely set up equipment and run materials to customer specifications.
• Pull, inspect, and verify materials before processing.
• Accurately record measurements and quality checks per sampling plan.
• Use forklifts and cranes to move materials (must be certified).
• Package materials per written work instructions.
• Identify and record scrap or non-conforming material.
• Communicate with sales reps for order clarification when needed.
• Perform preventative maintenance and general clean-up duties.
• Maintain and properly use measuring tools, scales, and scanners.
• Provide performance feedback and contribute to continuous improvement.
• Train others when required.
