Job summary

Alpla Inc. in Wisconsin is hiring for a 12-hour night shift on a 2-2-3 schedule (6:00 PM–6:00 AM). You’ll oversee production to packaging, start/stop machines, and ensure quality and safety on the line.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent required.
  • Basic computer skills to operate equipment and document production data.
  • Demonstrated mechanical ability and strong teamwork.

Responsibilities

  • Oversee production to packaging for assigned line.
  • Start and stop machines and perform parison controls.
  • Monitor weight distribution, regrind levels, and quality checks.
  • Prepare machine for mold changes and ensure output matches specifications.
  • Record produced goods and issues encountered during the shift.

This is a 12-hour night shift position on a 2-2-3 schedule, working 6:00 PM to 6:00 AM (two days on, two days off, three days on, then alternating).

What you will enjoy doing
  • Overall line responsibility from production to packaging
    • Start / Stop the machine
    • Performs parison controls
    • Monitor material control (weight distribution, regrind levels, watch tail lengths, etc.)
    • Performs regular quality control throughout the shift and visual quality checks
    • Prepare machine for mold change
    • Ensure goods are produced in correct quantity and in accordance with agreed specifications
    • Accurately records goods produced and problems encountered during shift
    • Line clearance performance
  • Autonomous maintenance activities
  • Assists Machine Operator II/Shift Supervisor/Mold Change Team with mold/color changes as needed
  • Working together in a team
    • Ensure team works together as efficiently as possible
  • Maintain good housekeeping in and around the machine and within department

What Makes You Great

  • Technical/mechanical background in Plastics Industry preferred
