Job summary

Southeastern Container, Inc. is seeking an Injection Machine Operator for day or night shifts in Winchester, VA. You will run injection molding machinery and a crane system to produce high-quality preforms and bottles.

The role requires monitoring resin feeds, color changes, and ensuring adherence to SQMS standards. Responsibilities include maintaining equipment, performing basic maintenance, recording scrap, and reporting any safety concerns.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED is required or equivalent.
• Ability to operate injection molding equipment safely.
• Experience with RF scanners or basic warehouse tech is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Start/stop/run injection molding machines and crane per procedures.
• Monitor resin feed and colorant; ensure correct product and colors.
• Inspect quality, troubleshoot, and isolate out-of-spec production.
• Track scrap with tags and labels; process as directed.
• Perform preform tests to verify SQMS standards; report issues.
• Maintain support equipment and calibrate as directed.
• Assist with maintenance like neck rings and mold cleanings.
• Keep workspace clean and follow safety rules at all times.
• Complete required reports and assist team leaders as needed.
• Adhere to product safety, regulatory compliance and quality.

Employees assigned to the night shift are eligible for an additional shift premiumJOB TITLE: Injection Machine OperatorREPORTS TO: Team LeaderSUMMARY: Responsible for operation of injection molding equipment, crane system and any related equipment that is necessary to assure production of injection molded parts of optimum quality.DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; other duties may be assigned as necessary.1. Start, stop, and run injection molding machines and crane system per established safety and operational procedures.2. Monitor resin and colorant feed and supply to assure continuous operation of the equipment. Verify that the correct product is produced using the correct resin in the correct color as specified by Production Scheduling. Coordinate preform and color changes as necessary.3. Monitor production for adherence to quality specifications and notify the Team Leader or Injection Operations Manager of potential problems. Troubleshoot and profile machines as necessary. Work with the Team Leader or Injection Operations Manager to isolate any production that has been identified as out of specification.4. Account for machine scrap. Complete all required scrap tags and labels for scrap tracking. Process scrap as directed by the Team Leader or Injection Operations Manager.5. Perform visual and technical tests on preforms to verify conformity to SQMS standards. Immediately report any out of specification product to the Team Leader or Injection Operations Manager.6. Monitor support equipment such as dryers, chiller and crane system and immediately report any obvious malfunctions to the Team Leader or Injection Operations Manager. Assure that any automated defect detection or quality test equipment appears to be operating correctly. Perform any tests to calibrate equipment as directed.7. Perform maintenance on equipment such as changing Husky neck rings and assist with mold cleanings.8. Maintain a clean working environment and follow all safety guidelines and policies at all times. Report any unsafe conditions to the Team Leader or Injection Operations Manager.9. Complete any required reports as directed by the Team Leader or Injection Operations Manager.10. Perform other duties as requested by the Team Leader or Injection Operations Manager.11.
