Job summary

Materion is seeking a production operator to run equipment for LX powder production, including crushers, mills, furnaces, and packaging. You will perform blending, sampling, and material movements in SAP while maintaining strict safety and quality practices on the factory floor.

The role requires aptitude for mechanical tasks, basic math, and teamwork in a fast-paced environment. Prior welding experience is a plus, and adherence to 6S standards is essential.

Qualifications

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years industrial manufacturing experience.
• Welding education and experience desirable but not required.
• Ability to follow standard operating procedures and safety rules to maintain high quality and safe conditions.
• Mechanical aptitude, attention to detail and basic math skills are required.
• Must work well in a team and help identify production issues and resolve them with assistance.

Responsibilities

• Sets up and operates Jaw crushers, Tornado/Pin Mills and blending equipment for LX powders production.
• Operates Doxy Furnaces, Doxy Leach, and chemical addition equipment.
• Runs Air Dryers, Screeners and Dry Magnets for LX powders.
• Operates Agglomeration furnaces and Vacuum Packaging equipment.
• Performs routine maintenance and troubleshooting on production equipment.
• Performs product blending, sampling and ensures 6S cleanliness daily.
• Enters material movements in SAP and completes quality control and lot traceability paperwork.

POSITION SUMMARY

The position is responsible for operate all equipment associated with the preparation and production of LX powders supporting deliveries of a premium powder product

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS and RESPONSIBILITIES

• Sets up and operates Jaw crushers, Tornado/Pin Mills and all blending equipment, to support the production of Tantalum powder.


• Sets up and operates Doxy Furnaces, Doxy Leach and the chemical addition equipment for LX powders.


• Sets up and operates Air Dryers, Screeners and Dry Magnet in the production of LX powders.


• Sets up and runs Agglomeration furnaces.


• Sets up and operates Vacuum Packaging equipment.


• Performs troubleshooting and routine preventative maintenance tasks on production equipment.


• Performs product blending and sampling as required.


• Enters material movements in SAP, completes all associated quality control paperwork and lot traceability paperwork to assure product is clearly tested and identified.


• Performs troubleshooting and routine preventative maintenance tasks on production equipment.


• Maintains work area in a clean, safe, and orderly condition on a daily basis by following 6S standard work practices.


• Follows prescribed safety rules and regulations and standard operating procedures to ensure personal safety and high product quality.

QUALIFICATIONS/SKILLS

• Requires a high school diploma or equivalent with at least 2 years industrial manufacturing experience.

PHYSICAL DEMANDS and WORK ENVIRONMENT

Position requires direct contact on the manufacturing floor and requires ambulation.

Work time is spent in a factory environment where temperatures fluctuate.
