Job summary

Kolpak in Parsons, TN is seeking a Sheet Metal Machine Operator to set up, operate, and maintain fabricating equipment (press brake, shear, punch press, CNC, roll former) to produce high-quality components.

You will read blueprints, adjust machines, perform in-process inspections, and follow 5S and LOTO safety procedures while collaborating with production teams.

Qualifications

• Read and interpret blueprints and measurement specs.
• Perform basic math and reading comprehension.
• Read, speak, and understand English.
• Stand/walk on concrete for full shifts in hot environments.
• Lift up to 50 lbs alone; more with assistance; wear PPE.
• Safely handle tools and inspect finished products.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate sheet metal fabrication equipment per orders and drawings.
• Read engineering drawings, schematics, and specs.
• Load raw materials and unload parts with proper handling.
• Adjust machine settings, tooling, and programs for quality.
• Perform in-process inspections with calipers, micrometers, gauges.
• Conduct routine maintenance and troubleshoot machines.
• Identify defects and opportunities for process improvement.
• Follow safety, LOTO procedures, and quality standards.
• Maintain production, scrap, and downtime records.
• Keep work areas clean per 5S standards.
• Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and quality teams.

The Sheet Metal Machine Operatoris responsible forsetting up,operating, andmaintainingsheet metal fabrication equipment to produce high-quality metal components according to specifications. This role involves working with press brake, shear, punch press, CNC, and roll former. This role requires strong attention to detail, the ability to read technical drawings, and a commitment to safety, quality and efficiency.

Reporting directly to the Production Supervisor, this position is based in Parsons, Tennessee*.

Key Tasks & Responsibilities:

• Set up andoperatesheet metal fabrication equipment according to work orders, blueprints, and job travelers
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and measurement specifications
• Load raw materials and unload finished parts, ensuring proper handling to prevent damage
• Adjust machine settings, tooling, and programs to meet dimensional and quality requirements
• Perform in-process inspections using measuring tools such as calipers, micrometers, and gauges
• Conduct routine preventative maintenance and basic troubleshooting on assigned machines
• Identifydefects, scrap causes, and process improvement opportunities
• Follow all safety procedures, lockout/tagout (LOTO) requirements, and quality standards
• Maintainaccurate production, scrap, and downtime records
• Keep work areas clean and organizedin accordance with5S standards
• Collaborate with supervisors, engineers, and quality teams to resolve production issues

QualificationsJob Requirements:

• 3-5 years’ experience required in Construction and/or Manufacturing
• Ability to read and interpret blueprints and tape measures
• Perform basic math and reading comprehension
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English
• Ability to stand/walk on concrete for a full shift and work in temperatures above 95°F
• Ability to bend, stoop, kneel, crouch, climb, balance, and lift 50lbs.alone; lift more than 50 lbs. withassistance
• Ability to handle tools safely and inspect finished products
• Must be able to wear PPE
