Description
Objective: To efficiently operate a molding machine for over molding wire TC’s and probes, including preparatory work. The role involves molding various connectors and components.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Spot weld and/or solder pins onto wire TC’s and probes prior to molding, using semi-automated or manual welders.
- Place wire or probe sub-assemblies into multi-cavity molds and over mold the ends.
- Verify each unit has continuity using a multi-meter or continuity tester.
- Perform in-process and/or final inspections for proper function and correct pins according to calibration.
- Verify finished length of molded probes with a ruler or suitable measuring device.
- Place hardware into multi-cavity molds and over mold to create connectors.
- Wrap and package wire TC’s.
- Practice good housekeeping and safety procedures, adhering to all company policies.
Requirements
Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:
- Ability to verify parts meet specifications through visual inspection, including color code conformity.
- Efficiently handle small parts and place them correctly within molds.
- Measure with a ruler to within 1/16 of an inch.
- Stand or sit for extended periods, with frequent walking, bending, and leaning.
- Regularly lift 10 lbs., occasionally lift up to 55 lbs.
- Work in environments with elevated temperatures, smoke, grease, and oil.
- Follow verbal or written instructions.
- Collaborate closely with coworkers, providing guidance and training to improve quality.
Education and Experience
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- At least 2 years of experience working with production machinery.
- Math skills related to verifying product dimensions and managing production schedules.
