Job Title: Machine Operator I

Division/Department: Maintenance

Reports to: Maintenance Supervisor

Scheduled Hours: 2nd Shift Sunday 9:00am-6:00pm, Monday-Thursday 3:45pm-11:45pm
3rd Shift Monday-Thursday 9:00pm-7:00am

Job Overview:

The primary responsibility of the Machine Operator is to set up, maintain, and operate machinery. The candidate must be technically inclined, able to properly utilize tools and machinery, analyze situations, and find solutions for any issues that arise. The Machine Operator must report all concerns or malfunctions to their manager and supervisor to ensure safety and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities:

1. Perform preventative maintenance, including inspections, lubrication, and cleaning daily.
2. Conduct inspections and identify failures requiring monitoring or repair.
3. Troubleshoot and repair machinery errors during shifts.
4. Report larger repairs needed to supervisors and technicians.
5. Control and adjust machine settings (e.g., speed).
6. Understand production procedures.

Additional Responsibilities: As assigned by the manager.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

1. Proficient in using electrical and manual equipment and measurement tools.
2. Ability to read and interpret blueprints, manuals, and specifications.
3. Good understanding of safety procedures and concepts.
4. Understanding of basic machine controls (start, stop, sensors, etc.).

Preferred Education, Experience, and Licenses:

1. 1-2 years of industry experience.
2. Trade school diploma or industry certifications are a plus.

Physical Environment and Occupational Risks:

1. Warehouse environment.
2. Physical activities involving lifting, climbing, balancing, walking, stooping, and material handling.
3. Frequent use of hand tools such as power tools, hammers, nails, and bolts.
