Job summary

Liberty Packaging, a unit of Liberty Diversified International, is seeking a Machine Operator I in Poway, CA to contribute to producing quality corrugated products. You will lead a small crew, set up orders, perform quality checks, and maintain production metrics in a factory setting.

The role reports to a Production Supervisor and requires a HS diploma or GED with manufacturing experience, plus comfort with computers and overtime.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED with manufacturing experience, or 3+ years in manufacturing in lieu of education.
• Typing, data entry and computer usage experience.
• Basic math and ability to read and follow detailed instructions.
• Availability for overtime, weekends, and holidays.

Responsibilities

• Operate machine by setting up orders according to customer specifications, following order readiness process of efficiently preparing the right tools to complete the job.
• Perform quality checks by inspecting a first article, and articles throughout the order to identify errors, ensuring quality product along with monitoring equipment and raw materials.
• Enter production metrics into a computer electronic system to accurately track progress of production rates, quality, maintenance, and downtime.
• Proactively communicate issues with equipment to appropriate leaders, trouble shoot issues, and problem solve individually and as a team to maximize overall equipment efficiency and minimize downtime.
• Provides guidance and assistance to Assistant Machine Operators, as needed.
• Intermittently assist with minor repairs to equipment in partnership with maintenance team.
• Maintain a clean and organized work areaby following post order cleaning process.
• Follow plant safety processes and procedures outlined for the machine center.
• Other duties, as assigned.
