Job summary

AWE in Horsham, PA, is hiring an entry-level Machine Operator I to support the preparation and processing of raw materials using advanced fabrication equipment.

You will gain hands-on experience operating bandsaws, CNC machines, laser, and other equipment, with a clear path for skill growth within the automotive performance industry. The role emphasizes safety, quality, and teamwork in a metal fabrication environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • 0–1 years of manufacturing or machine operation experience.
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare metal components and stage for the next operation.
  • Run and set up basic fabrication machines such as bandsaws, cutters, deburr tools, and CNCs.
  • Measure and inspect raw materials per process instructions.
  • Ensure orders are fulfilled with accuracy and minimal scrap.
  • Perform daily TPM cleanups and maintain 5S standards.
  • Support teammates and follow safety PPE rules.
  • Suggest continuous improvements for processes or tools.
  • Maintain a safe, organized work area.

As a Machine Operator I, you’ll play a hands‑on role in creating industry‑leading performance parts. This entry‑level position focuses on mastering the preparation and processing of raw materials using advanced fabrication equipment, providing a strong foundation for long‑term skill growth and career advancement within the automotive performance industry.

Key Responsibilities
  • Preparing metal tubes, bars, and other materials, and staging them for the next operation (which is performed by Fabrication/Welding)
  • Running machines such as bandsaw, tube cutters, deburr, resizing dies, metal benders, perforator, Laser, Robot, CNC, etc., to level II expectations while also performing some of the machine set‑ups.
  • Measuring, cutting, deburring, and staging of Raw materials as per our manufacturing processes and instructions, using Manufacturing jigs per instructions
  • Executing all work assigned in a timely and accurate manner against time and quality standards
  • Ensuring that orders are fulfilled with 100% accuracy and with minimal scrap.
  • Perform Daily TPM (Total Productive Maintenance) reviews for all assigned equipment, Clean area, machines, etc.
  • Maintain your area to 5S standards.
  • Provide input and ideas for continuous improvements that can be made in process, equipment, or tools.
  • Adhere to al safety rules, PPE requirements, and company policies.
  • Support team members and cross‑functional production needs as required
Education & Experience
  • High school diploma or GED required
  • Must have 0‑1 years of manufacturing or machine operation experience
Technical Skills
  • Mechanical aptitude and willingness to learn
  • Basic math and measurement skills
  • Experience reading basic technical drawings, preferred
Soft Skills
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Ability to work in a manufacturing environment
  • Ability to follow instructions, procedures, and schedules
  • Team-oriented, and adaptable
Physical Requirements
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time
  • Ability to lift, carry, or move items up to approximately 25-75 pounds
  • Frequent use of hands for operating equipment and handling parts
  • Exposure to typical shop conditions (noise, machinery, metal dust etc.)
