Job summary

SPS Companies, Inc. is seeking a Fabrication Operator to run tube fabrication equipment and process materials per customer specs. Precise attention to detail and strict safety adherence are essential in this role.

You will operate saws, swagers, bending machines, and drills, record production data, keep areas clean, and escalate quality issues promptly. The job requires teamwork, effective communication, and a commitment to safety in a fast-paced shop environment.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Experience with tube fabrication equipment preferred.
  • Must be able to read tape measures and interpret customer specs.
  • Strong safety awareness and adherence to ISO 9001:2015 quality procedures.

  • Keep work area clean throughout the day
  • Report any quality-related problems to the Supervisor for resolution
  • Provide cross training to others and be cross trained elsewhere as needed
  • Attend all scheduled company & safety meetings
  • Follow and enforce company safety policies and safe work practices at all times
  • Demonstrates teamwork and cooperation with other employees and supervisors
  • Report any equipment problems to the Supervisor for immediate repair or schedule for repair

Job description

The Fabrication Operator uses tube fabrication equipment such as saws, swagers, bending machines, and drills to process material in a way that meets customer specifications. Precise attention to detail and strict adherence to safety and quality standards are an absolute must in this position.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Operate various types of fabrication equipment in a job shop atmosphere
  • Record accurate information for all production orders
  • Keep work area clean throughout the day
  • Report any quality-related problems to the Supervisor for resolution
  • Provide cross training to others and be cross trained elsewhere as needed
  • Attend all scheduled company & safety meetings
  • Follow and enforce company safety policies and safe work practices at all times
  • Demonstrates teamwork and cooperation with other employees and supervisors
  • Report any equipment problems to the Supervisor for immediate repair or schedule for repair
Physical & Work Requirements:
  • Ability to work in a warehouse facility within OSHA guidelines; conditions may be heated/unheated and periodically noisy
  • Fast-paced, moderately stressful, constantly changing day to day work environment
  • Ability to stand, walk, or be mobile for up to eight hours per shift
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds as needed
  • Required to wear proper PPE at all times in warehouse
  • Willing to work overtime as needed
  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Ability to read, interpret, and use tape measure and other tube fabrication equipment
