Job summary

Lake Cable in the Midwest is seeking a Machine Operator to process copper strands into multi-strand cable, following work orders and process parameters, and operating a forklift and overhead crane.

You will perform quality testing, document results, label finished products, and maintain a safe, clean work area; the role offers day and some night shifts with overtime and a strong benefits package.

Qualifications

• Completion of high school, GED or equivalent.
• Ability to read and understand product and process specifications and quality requirements.
• Computer experience and job-specific computer training will be provided.
• Must comply with all company rules and policies.

Responsibilities

• Read and understand material specifications.
• Operate overhead crane and forklift to move material.
• Read process documentation for set-up and operation of processing equipment.
• Read and understand process documentation to identify product requirements.
• Complete and document all quality testing in-process and for final product.
• React immediately if product does not meet requirements.
• Complete all weight verifications and paperwork.
• Document production results on a computer and generate labels for finished product.
• Maintain machine, equipment and work area in a safe, clean condition.
