Job summary

Legrand in Union, OH is seeking a Machine Operator to operate and maintain the cable winding machinery, ensuring safety, quality and efficiency.

You will set up the machine, adjust tension and speed, cut and spool cables, inspect for defects, and handle forklift- assisted material movement on the shop floor. Experience in metal fabrication or manufacturing is preferred, with focus on accuracy and meeting production schedules.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Manufacturing machine operator experience preferred.
• Experience in a metal fabrication environment preferred.
• Forklift and walkie license mandatory.
• Basic mathematical skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to troubleshoot machine issues.
• Time management.
• Strong communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Cut and spool all different cable sizes using cable cutting machinery.
• Track footage of cable on stock cable reels and update cable lot cards.
• Inspect the cable during the spooling action to identify any defects and ensure the spooled cable meets quality standards.
• Package (Strap & Skid) finished product
• Pick and store cable in designated locations using a forklift
• Adhere to production schedules
• Follow all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized work environment
• Other duties as assigned.
