  • pickle and/or spin parts to remove excess zinc, including nonstandard or unique parts as proficiency increases
  • Immerse product in cleaning and coating solutions for specified times; remove and inspect for conformance to specifications
  • Clean dross from the zinc tank and pit; safely add chemicals and zinc in the appropriate amounts
  • Determine whether galvanizing on a part or batch meets specification; troubleshoot causes of inadequate galvanizing as skill develops

  • Monitor machine operation, adjusting or stopping equipment when problems occur
  • Finalize and package products for shipment
  • Operate and maintain machinery and production line equipment
  • Operate overhead cranes and forklifts safely to move product and materials
  • Follow established production guidelines and procedures
  • Perform other duties as assigned
SAFETY

  • Safely work around and handle toxic or caustic chemicals used in the galvanizing process
  • Operate safely around moving mechanical parts and equipment
  • Inspect equipment and product for integrity and safety; report any anomalous conditions promptly
