Finishing Department Kewanna, IN Full-Time 2nd Shift

Position Summary

The Finishing position performs a variety of duties in the Finishing Department. Duties may include running a variety of grinders, presses, ovens, shot blasters or paint lines. You will start out running the machine with supervision, can then be promoted to running the machine alone, and eventually can become Set-Up Certified on that machine.

Essential Functions

  • Understand basic forms of measurement and use digital calipers, laydown gauges and tape measures; understand basic math skills, including decimals and fractions
  • Read and understand blueprints
  • Use basic hand tools such as allen wrenches, standard wrenches and air tools
  • Maintain tolerances anywhere from .030 – .250 on the springs
  • Accept directions from individuals other than your manager and work as a team member
  • Be willing to move from job to job or machine to machine in any one given day

Supervisory Responsibility

This position has no supervisory responsibilities.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee can be exposed to airborne particles, moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment and job sites can be loud.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear. This position is very active and requires standing, walking and bending all day. The employee must continuously lift and/or move items up to 10 pounds and occasionally up to 25 pounds.
