Job summary

Bandit Equipment in Remus, MI is seeking a Machine Operator 3 to set up and run the Steel Room machinery, including CY-Laser and Brake Press, plus level 1 and level 2 duties as needed. You will read blueprints, use calipers or micrometers, perform self-quality checks, and follow safety, quality, inventory and production guidelines.

The role requires basic shop math, tape measure reading, and willingness to work in heat/cold, with occasional lifting.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machining equipment (brake press, saw, etc.).
• Read blueprints to verify diameters and other dimensions.
• Monitor machine operation to ensure accurate cuts and minimize waste.
• Move steel using overhead crane and assist with loading/unloading.
• Troubleshoot machine issues and perform self-quality checks.
• Adhere to Bandit safety, quality, inventory and production guidelines.

Job Summary

Machine Operator 3 will be responsible for setting up and operating various machines in the Steel Room including but not limited to CY-Laser, Brake Press, plus level 1 and level 2 duties, unless otherwise noted. Various hand tools may be required to smooth out imperfections. Machine Operator 3 will be able to use calipers, and/or micrometers. They will adhere to all Bandit safety, quality, inventory and production guidelines, standards, policies, and procedures.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Set up and operate machining equipment, including but not limited to the brake press, saw, etc.
• Read blueprints for specifications such as diameter, and other dimensions noted.
• Observe machine operating to ensure accurate cuts and catch any detects or malfunctions on steel to minimize waste.
• Pull and unload steel to/from machine with overhead crane.
• Ability to troubleshoot or problem solve any issues associated with machines.
• Perform self-quality checks (use of go/no go gauges, check sheets)
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications and Education Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Ability to read a tape measure, basic shop math, and able to read a blueprint.
• Ability to use a tape measure and other measuring instruments.
• Basic written and verbal communication skills
• Complete Bandit’s crane and/or forklift safety training

Physical Requirements

• Frequently stand, walk, push, pull, stoop, pinch, grasp, and/or bend. Requires employee to work both inside/outside in heat/cold, and/or wet/humid conditions.
• Frequently required to use personal protective equipment (PPE) to prevent injury.
• Frequently lift 50 pounds
