Job summary

ProAmpac Kansas City is seeking a production technician to safely operate and monitor bag machinery on a 12-hour day shift. You will load materials, calibrate equipment, and help meet production goals while maintaining quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Monitors production, inspects and tests materials to ensure quality and quotas.
• Verifies and tracks materials for inventory and work in progress.
• Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and performs routine maintenance.
• Trains and mentors machine assistants and new crew members.
• Keeps machinery and surrounding areas organized and clean.
• Coordinates production activities with other departments and teams.

Essential Duties and Tasks

• Safley sets up, operates, and monitors bag machinery and equipment as intended and needed to meet customer and production goals.




• Completes bag machine setup for production runs, including loading materials, adjusting settings, and calibrating equipment to ensure proper operation.




• Monitors the production process, inspects and tests materials and equipment using safe and proper protocols, to ensure products meet quality standards and production quotas are met.




• Verifies and tracks all materials for inventory and work in progress regulations.




• Troubleshoots equipment malfunctions and perform routine maintenance tasks to keep machinery operating efficiently.




• Trains and provides guidance to machine assistants and new crew members.




• Keeps machinery and surrounding areas organized by meeting housekeeping, storage, staging, and cleanliness requirements.

• Completes all necessary documentation for internal or external use.




• Effectively works with other departments or team members, such as machine technicians, supervisors, and quality control inspectors, to coordinate production activities and address any potential issues as they arise.

Pay Range

Pay Range $22.55 - $25.05

Day Shift

Day Shift: 12 hr rotating schedule / 7am - 7pm

Work Environment

Work primarily in a manufacturing or warehouse environment. Hearing protection, safety shoes, vision protection and other necessary PPE as required. May be exposed to non-toxic/nuisance smells from chemicals, inks, airborne dust, moving mechanical parts, high noise levels and hot/humid environmental conditions in the manufacturing area.

This role will regularly use plant machinery which certification may be required. This role routinely works around moving equipment. Employee is regularly required to stand; walk; use hands/fingers to type, hold, handle, or feel; and reach with hands and arms. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
