Job summary

MCC in Clarksville, TN is hiring Machine Operators for day or night shifts. Experience is not required but beneficial. The role involves setting up and operating the rewind machine to prepare customer order rolls, labeling, stacking, and keeping work organized.

Qualifications

• Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide to count labels and conversions.
• Ability to use simple Windows-based applications.
• Must be able to stand, lift up to 50 pounds and perform physical tasks.
• Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception.

Responsibilities

• Set up rewind machine to cut and rewind counts per order.
• Run orders, label orders, and cart them.
• Keep orders separated by size, city, UPC or plant numbers.
• Check rolls for misprinting and report to pressman/supervisor.
• Cut out bad labels and splice rolls.
• Direct errors to the rework area.
• Rotate through rework area to fix bad rolls.
• Clean rewind or turret machines as needed.
• Participate in special projects and other duties.

We are currently looking for Machine Operators to join our team. Experience is not required but always a bonus.

The Slitter is responsible for taking master label rolls from the Rewind Feeder and transforms rolls into specific customer order rolls ready for shipping.

Responsibilities:

• Sets up rewind machine to cut and rewind specific counts per customer order
• Runs orders, fills out core labels to identify order, and stacks orders on carts
• Keeps orders separated by size, city, UPC or plant numbers
• Checks rolls while running for misprinting; report error to pressman and supervisor
• Cuts out “bad” labels on rolls and splices rolls
• Directs errors to rework area
• Rotates through rework area to rework “bad” rolls
• Clean rewind machine or turret machine as needed
• Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Ability to add and subtract, multiply and divide to figure label counts and conversions. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance.
• Ability to use simple Windows-based applications.
• The physical demands require standing, using hands to finger, feel and touch; reach with arms and hands; talk and hear. This position requires frequent walking. Occasionally employee is required to climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. Must be able to regularly lift or move up to 50 pounds.
• Specific vision requirements are close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
