Job Description

The operator of the Cut and Pack process will be responsible for running an automated system that cuts and packages sandpaper sheets. The operator will handle changeovers, loading materials, conducting quality checks, and managing the process flow of the automated system. As a Cut and Pack Specialist, maintaining a positive work environment by following safety procedures is essential.

Qualifications:

Required Knowledge, Skills, Ability, Training, Experience, etc.

Proficiency

• Understanding proper product flow on the machine
• Intermediate understanding and following of 5S procedures related to machine cleanliness and tool organization
• Ability to properly record downtime, machine breakdowns, and organizational failures in daily management sheets
• Ability to use HMI to select proper programs
• Mechanical changeover skills using work instructions and proper training
• Understanding of BPS standards and interaction of its aspects

Additional Responsibilities:

• Loading materials onto the machine as needed
• Operating pin lift, pallet lift, and hoist
• Setting up and starting the machine successfully
• Making adjustments to the machine as required
• Assisting in troubleshooting and repairs according to escalation plans
• Reading and following standard operating procedures
• Adhering to quality standards and measures
• Following procedures for machine cleanliness and tool organization
• Maintaining safety procedures related to machine operation
• Understanding the machine's feeding system with clamp beams on an idle conveyor, motorized system with clamp beams before and after the cutting head
• Using touchscreen parameters to set material width to minimize waste
• Recalling saved machine setup recipes for different configurations
