The facility employs just under 500 full-time associates in a 5-shift operation, which encompasses 235,000 sq ft. along with 12,000 SKUs. In addition to the conversion, customizing and packaging activities, abrasives are now a significant part of our power tool accessory business. Job Description
- Support the startup and implementation of the Brazing operation of a new production line in the existing Lincolnton, NC facility.
- During startup, learn firsthand the process and support the development of local work instructions and standards. This position will require extended overseas travel for training.
- Actively communicate with related departments (Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, etc.).
- Train and monitor new production associates working on the specified shift and provide timely and effective feedback when required.
- Be responsible for loading/unloading, operating, adjusting, change-over, maintaining multiple machines, conducting 5S, and aiding in troubleshooting. Responsible for reaching daily targets and escalating deviations.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED; Technical or Vocational schooling is a plus.
- 3 to 5 years of previous experience in Brazing Processes (or similar).
- Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
- Excellent communication skills — spoken, written, interpersonal.
- Ability to learn and understand new processes, machines, and technology.
- Flexibility to work different shifts and overtime.
- Ability to stand and be mobile for 8 hours.
- Proper hand dexterity.
- Ability to read and follow instructions and to read and prepare orders.
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
- Math skills appropriate to a machining environment.
- Ability to read product prints and check products to match.
- Proficiency in the use of measuring devices.
- Setup machines using basic hand tools and measuring devices.
- Identify and assess common machine problems and troubleshoot.
- Read and follow standard operating procedures.
- Understand and follow procedures related to machine cleanliness and tool organization.
