The facility employs just under 500 full-time associates in a 5-shift operation, which encompasses 235,000 sq ft. along with 12,000 SKUs. In addition to the conversion, customizing and packaging activities, abrasives are now a significant part of our power tool accessory business. Job Description

• Support the startup and implementation of the Brazing operation of a new production line in the existing Lincolnton, NC facility.
• During startup, learn firsthand the process and support the development of local work instructions and standards. This position will require extended overseas travel for training.
• Actively communicate with related departments (Planning, Manufacturing Engineering, Quality, etc.).
• Train and monitor new production associates working on the specified shift and provide timely and effective feedback when required.
• Be responsible for loading/unloading, operating, adjusting, change-over, maintaining multiple machines, conducting 5S, and aiding in troubleshooting. Responsible for reaching daily targets and escalating deviations.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED; Technical or Vocational schooling is a plus.
• 3 to 5 years of previous experience in Brazing Processes (or similar).
• Computer skills including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word).
• Excellent communication skills — spoken, written, interpersonal.
• Ability to learn and understand new processes, machines, and technology.
• Flexibility to work different shifts and overtime.
• Ability to stand and be mobile for 8 hours.
• Proper hand dexterity.
• Ability to read and follow instructions and to read and prepare orders.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.
• Math skills appropriate to a machining environment.
• Ability to read product prints and check products to match.
• Proficiency in the use of measuring devices.
• Setup machines using basic hand tools and measuring devices.
• Identify and assess common machine problems and troubleshoot.
• Read and follow standard operating procedures.
• Understand and follow procedures related to machine cleanliness and tool organization.
