Job summary

Oldcastle APG is seeking a manufacturing operator to run machinery in a safe, efficient manner, following set specifications and quality standards. You will read instructions, adjust machines, monitor output, and assist teammates to meet production deadlines.

Candidates should have basic electronics knowledge, familiarity with hydraulics and electrical concepts, and strong reading skills to interpret manuals. A high school diploma or experience is required, with leadership abilities preferred.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required or related experience
• Basic understanding of electronics and programmable controllers
• Knowledge of hydraulics, electricity and tools
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules and operation manuals
• Ability to perform basic arithmetic and operate computer systems
• Must have computer literacy and mechanical aptitude
• Leadership abilities preferred

Responsibilities

• Read job specifications to determine machine adjustments and material requirements
• Set stops or guides to specific lengths as indicated by scale, rule or templates
• Observe machine operation to detect product defects or machine malfunction
• Review product for inconsistencies or abnormal appearance assuring product meets quality requirements
• Perform routine machine maintenance
• Assist other operators to set up machines and complete tasks to meet deadlines
• Maintain clean and orderly work area
