Job summary

Atkore in New Bedford, MA is seeking a Coiler (Machine Operator) for the 2nd shift (4:00 PM – Midnight). The role completes coiling, packing, and uses simple measurement tools, with an emphasis on safety and quality. Base pay is $23.19/hr plus a $0.50 shift differential, with a good‑faith current pay estimate around $23.51/hr.

You will report to the Manufacturing Shift Supervisor and work to keep production flowing, meet quality standards, and document procedures in required paperwork.

Qualifications

• Experience in manufacturing or industrial environments preferred.
• Ability to work in loud/noisy environments and extreme temperatures at times.
• Basic Math skills required.

Who we are looking for:

We are currently searching for a Coiler (Machine operator) to be based out of New Bedford, MA Duchaine Facility. Reporting to the Manufacturing Shift Supervisor, the operator will be responsible for operating machinery in the areas of coiling, packing and using simple measurement instruments to check work and completing paperwork required.

What you will do:

• Read and comprehend production Standard Work and Job Function Analysis (JFA)
• Ensure production materials are available.
• Operate and observe machinery during production.
• Identify acceptable or unacceptable product quality to customer requirements and quality standards.
• Collaborate with co-workers, supervisors, and managers to achieve productivity and site goals.
• Adhere to all safety procedures and report potentially unsafe conditions immediately.

What you will bring:

• High School diploma or equivalent education and experience strongly preferred but not required.
• Previous experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment is strongly preferred.
• Ability to work in an environment with loud noises, smells and/or extreme temperatures at times.
• Basic Math skills required.
• Must have the ability to lift up to 70 lbs.
• Must be able to push, pull, bend, sit and stand without assistance.
• Good attendance and strong work ethic required.
• Must have the ability to understand and carry out verbal and written instructions in English.

As of the date of this posting, a good‑faith estimate of the current pay for this position is $23.51/hr. Placement in the range depends on several factors, including, but not limited to, specific competencies, relevant education, qualifications, certifications, relevant experience, skills, seniority, performance, shift, travel requirements, and business or organizational needs, and may change over time. Other compensation may include, but is not limited to, overtime, shift differentials, bonuses, commissions, stock, and other incentives.
