Job summary

Olympic Steel is seeking a Machine Operator in Rock Hill, SC to operate and maintain T-Drill equipment for forming branch connections in pipe and tubing. You will monitor production, conduct quality checks, and keep a clean, safe work area to meet customer specifications.

Responsibilities include reading blueprints, using calipers and gauges, and adhering to safety and quality standards. A high school diploma or GED is required with 1–3 years of related experience preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with manufacturing or machine operation is preferred.
• Experience reading blueprints and using measuring instruments (calipers, tape measures, gauges) is desired.
• Ability to read blueprints and measuring instruments.

Job Description

The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and maintaining T-Drill equipment used to form branch connections in pipe and tubing. This role ensures the safe, efficient, and accurate operation of machinery to produce high-quality components according to customer specifications and company quality standards. The operator will monitor production, perform quality checks, and maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• 1–3 years of manufacturing or machine operation experience preferred.
• Experience operating tube processing, drilling, or forming equipment strongly preferred.
• Ability to read blueprints and measuring instruments (calipers, tape measure, gauges).
• Basic mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a production environment.
