Job summary

Atlantic Track is seeking a 2nd Shift Machine Operator - Bender I in Richmond, IL to bend and shape rail for turnout assembly. You will wear PPE and operate overhead/jib cranes, ensuring labels match rail material and recording progress on check sheets.

Training occurs on 1st shift (Mon-Fri, 7:00am–3:30pm) before transitioning to the 2nd shift (Mon-Thu, 3:00pm–1:30am). Candidates need 2+ years in manufacturing, blueprint/tape measure skills, and the ability to lift 50 lbs.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (GED, HiSET, etc.).
• Minimum 2 years of manufacturing or hardscaping experience.
• Ability to read a blueprint.
• Ability to read a tape measure to 32nd inch.
• Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.
• Must be able to obtain crane and forklift certifications.
• On-site work in Richmond, Illinois.
• OSHA 10 or 30 certification preferred.
• Experience bending metal in an industrial environment.

Responsibilities

The selected candidate will be bending and shaping rail to contribute to final turnout assembly.This role will support our 2nd shift, which works Monday through Thursday from 3:00pm to 1:30am. Training will be conducted during 1st shift (Monday through Friday from 7:00am – 3:30pm) and then transition to 2nd shift.Roles and Responsibilities:Wears and maintains personal protective equipment (PPE), including hard hat, steel toe boots with metatarsal guard, safety goggles, glovesConducts machine check prior to starting the day’s work, checking for oil leaks, sensor alignment, safety mat placementStages material from rail cart to bending working areaOperates overhead crane and jib crane to manipulate and move work materialEnsures work and/or sales orders match the label code on the rail material at handAnalyzes blueprint and makes markings to check the overall bend of the railCompletes check sheets and work orders, noting work progress and qualityRelocates completed bent or curved rail to next stage in the work orderEnsures work area is clean, tidy, and safe for the arrival of the next shiftApprises the Supervisor of the next shift on progress of work and on any outstanding items to be completedMinimum Qualifications:High school diploma or equivalent (GED, HiSET, TASC, etc.)Minimum of 2 years of experience in a manufacturing and/or hardscaping environmentAbility to read a blueprintAbility to read a tape measure (down to a 32nd of an inch)Ability to lift and move objects weighing up to 50 lbs.Must be able to obtain internal crane and forklift certificationsAbility to work on-site in Richmond, IllinoisPreferred Qualifications:Forklift certificationOSHA 10 or 30 certificationExperience handling large metal materialPrevious experience bending metal in an industrial environmentAtlantic Track offers a holistic benefits package, including competitive pay, 401k plan with company matching funds, health / dental / vision insurance options, life insurance, paid time off, an employee shared ownership plan, and more.
