Job summary

Carpenter Co. in Fogelsville, PA is seeking a Machine Operator for 1st shift to safely operate specific equipment and ensure materials meet customer specifications. You will coordinate with Quality Control and the Department Manager to meet production schedules in a temperature-varied environment.

The role requires prior machine operation experience, basic math and reading skills, and ability to follow written and verbal instructions with minimal supervision. Training is provided.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Prior experience as a machine operator preferred.
• Basic reading, writing and math skills required.
• Must be able to read and interpret a tape measure.
• Ability to follow written and verbal instructions; work with little supervision.

Responsibilities

• Perform cutting operations according to programs and customer specifications.
• Perform quality checks on materials to ensure product meets specifications.
• Unload finished foam material and transport to next area.
• Place excess trim material in baler.
• Maintain communication with line personnel to minimize downtime.
• Record pertinent information from programs.
• Operate baler to bale trim material.
• Cross-train to operate other cutting equipment as needed.
• Other duties as assigned by supervision.

Carpenter Co. has an immediate opening for a Machine Operator 1st shift at our Fogelsville, Pa manufacturing plant.This position is responsible for the safe operation of aspecific piece of equipmentto ensure material complies with customer specifications.

Carpenter Co. employees are committed to working hard to ensure production goals are met while maintaining operations excellence. The successful candidate will maintain daily communication with Quality Control, Department Manager, and other employees in the department to ensure the needs of all internal and external customers as outline by the production schedule are met. The position works in a normal manufacturing environment with exposure to temperature changes.

Your additional responsibilities asthe Machine Operator will include:

• Perform cutting operations according to programs and customer specifications
• Perform quality checks on materials to ensure the product meets customer specifications.
• Unload finished cut foam material and transport to next production area.
• Place excess trim material in baler.
• Maintain communication with line personnel to ensure downtime is kept to a minimum
• Record pertinent information of programs.
• Operate baler - bale and secure trim material from baler.
• Cross-train to operate other cutting equipment as needed.
• Other duties as deemed necessary by supervision.

Skills / Requirements

• Prior experience as amachine operator.

• Basic computer knowledge and the ability to use computerized equipment in daily operations.
• Musthave basic reading, writing and math skills.
