Job summary

Tyson Foods in Dallas, TX is looking for an Operator to join the full-time team. The role runs from 2:45 pm to 11:30 pm or until finish, Monday through Friday with some weekends, and offers a shift differential for 2nd and 3rd shifts.

This position requires operating machinery, monitoring production flow, and maintaining a safe work environment in a high-volume facility. Overtime and weekend work may be required, with emphasis on safety and quality in food processing.

• Operate touch illustrated operating panel and safety switches
• Make small mechanical adjustments and use handheld scanner
• Visually inspect products for deficiencies
• Set up and tear down area at start/end of processing
• Perform general housekeeping in the department
• May operate forklift as needed
• Comply with safety, food safety, GMP and SQF requirements
• May use SAP if transferred/rotated
• Read and write; complete on-the-job paperwork; communicate across management levels
• Proficiency with computers (if applicable)
• Attention to detail
• Ability to perform simple math
• Lockout training required
• Willing to become forklift certified (if applicable)
• Willing to take tests on safety and food safety
• Willing to work overtime and/or weekends
• Willing to perform all rotation positions
• Other duties as assigned

JOB DESCRIPTION POSITION SUMMARY

Operator Role - Full-Time - Dallas, TX These positions start at $17.70 or $18.45/HR with a shift differential for 2nd shift & 3rd shift. Hours: 2:45 pm until 11:30 or until finish, Monday thru Friday with some weekends This position is responsible for operating machinery including ongoing production flow while maintaining a safe work environment and adhering to Tyson policies and procedures. Operator Roles may include Blade Sharpener, Block Grinder Operator, Box Machine Operator, CEM Operator, CookHouse Operator, CVP Machine Operator, Dry Room Operator, Final Grinder Operator, Fresh Grinder Operator, Frozen Frinder Operator, Lowerator Operator, Machine Operator, Mixer Operator, Peeler Operator, Scaler, Spice Room Operator and Stuffer Machine Operator.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Required to operate touch illustrated operating panel, safety switches.
• Small mechanical adjustments.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

The successful candidate(s) must be willing and able to perform the physical requirements of the job with or without reasonable accommodation.

• Must be willing and able to lift and carry 5-35lbs continuously, and hold 35 lbs. - 77lbs occasionally
• Must be willing and able to push and pull rack on rail system ranging from 65lbs up to 1600lbs.
• Must be willing and able to push/pull/lift with arms above shoulder level up to 77lbs with assistance
• Must be willing and able to perform repetitive motion of the shoulders, arms, and hands with up to 50 repetitions per minute.
• Must be willing and able to visually inspect product.
• Must be willing and able to work with different spices and meats. (Pork, Chicken & Beef)
• Must be willing and able to work in cold and damp environments (22-40°F temperatures) for 8-10 hours per day.
• Must be willing and able to stand on hard surface for up to 10 hours per day.
• Must be willing and able to bend, crouch, and stoop throughout the day.
• Must be willing and able to reach high and low levels, frequently.
• Must be willing and able to work with both hands and arms simultaneously throughout the day.
• Must be willing and able to use hands, fingers, and wrists to grasp, pull, and flex.
• Must be willing and able to climb step ladders and/or stairs.
