Operates machinery which may include laser/plasma cutting tables or break press. Conducts required quality checks and interprets production work orders.

Essential Functions:

1. Operate production machines and equipment following accepted practices.
2. Must be able to operate material handling equipment such as overhead hoists and cranes.
3. Perform minor maintenance on machines and equipment including lubrication, cleaning, adjustments and minor maintenance checks.
4. Make machine set-ups as requested / required for differing job runs.
5. Accurately report daily activities on work orders, Kanban cards and other media as required.
6. Must understand how to interpret and use production work orders / product router special instructions.
7. Conduct required quality checks using defined measurement equipment.
8. Exercise safe working habits while operating machines. Keep machine and work areas clean and free of safety hazards.
9. Comply with the Quality Management System.
10. Properly follow Work Instruction / Training Guides & Control Plans.
11. Adhere to ISO14001 Environmental Policies applicable to assigned areas & overall general plant requirements.
12. Adhere to Auxiliary Axle Systems Employee Handbook.
13. Other duties as assigned.

Education and Training:

• High School Diploma or GED required.

Minimum Qualifications:

1. 1+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment in a similar industry.
2. Be self-motivated, have strong initiative and strong communication skills.
3. Ability to work hours outside regular schedule and overtime as needed.

Physical Demands:

1. Regularly required to stand; walk; bend; balance; and grasp. Occasionally required to climb; squat; or kneel.
2. Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and push/pull up to 50 pounds. Occasionally lift up to 75 pounds.

Environmental Conditions:

1. Constant exposure to loud noises.
2. Frequent atmospheric exposure.
