Job description

Join to apply for the Machine Operator 2nd Shift role at RTP Company.

Brief Description: This position is responsible for the setup and operation of thermoplastic extrusion equipment that blends, mixes, packages, and transports dry or liquid materials to produce customer products.

Work Schedule: Production 2nd Shift: 1:45 PM to 10:00 PM, Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

1. Set up, start, and operate machinery to ensure continuous strands of material, adhering to safety and ISO standards.
2. Weigh and deliver ingredients to machinery, ensuring correct materials are used.
3. Monitor equipment for safe and efficient operation.
4. Troubleshoot equipment and processing issues.
5. Visually or physically examine materials for conformance.
6. Transfer samples for lab evaluation and adjust batches as needed.
7. Package finished materials appropriately.
8. Refer issues to supervisors for resolution.
9. Perform machine cleaning and maintain system data integrity.
10. Document work and participate in training and continuous improvement.
11. Follow safety rules and maintain cleanliness.
12. Handle materials and perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements

Skills and Abilities

1. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow procedures, and adhere to safety standards.
2. Operate and monitor machinery effectively.
3. Lift up to 60 lbs. and stand for an 8-hour shift.
4. Read and follow manuals and procedures.
5. Maintain a clean, safe workspace and dependable attendance.
6. Work overtime and in temperature extremes.
7. Pass forklift and respirator fit tests.
8. Proficient in English reading, writing, and speaking.

Education and Experience

1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. Forklift and manufacturing experience preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions

• Stand, walk, and handle objects regularly.
• Use safety equipment and work near moving parts.
• Lift/move up to 60 lbs., work in temperature extremes, and handle airborne particles.
• Occasionally sit and handle heavier loads with mechanical aid.

Vision abilities include close, distance, color, peripheral, depth perception, and focus adjustment.
