Brief Description: This position is responsible for the setup and operation of thermoplastic extrusion equipment that blends, mixes, packages, and transports dry or liquid materials to produce customer products.

Responsibilities:

1. Set up, start, and operate machinery to ensure continuous strands of material, adhering to safety, operating procedures, and ISO standards.
2. Weigh ingredients to meet specifications, ensure correct ingredients are delivered, and insert pre-blended materials into machinery.
3. Monitor production and equipment for safe and efficient operation.
4. Troubleshoot equipment and processing issues.
5. Visually or physically examine materials for conformance to standards.
6. Transfer samples to the lab for evaluation and follow instructions for batch adjustments if needed.
7. Package finished pelletized materials in containers and/or bags.
8. Refer issues/problems to Production Lead or Managers.
9. Perform all required machine cleaning.
10. Complete and maintain system inputs/transactions, ensuring data integrity.
11. Document work as required, including logs and reports.
12. Participate in training and continual improvement processes.
13. Follow safety and work rules; maintain departmental housekeeping standards.
14. Handle materials appropriately.
15. Perform other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

1. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, follow standardized work, and adhere to safety practices.
2. Operate/monitor equipment during operation to ensure quality.
3. Lift up to 60 lbs. regularly and stand for an 8-hour shift.
4. Read and follow manuals and procedures.
5. Maintain a clean and safe workspace.
6. Dependability and excellent attendance.
7. Positive attitude.
8. Willingness to work overtime, including every other weekend.
9. Work in temperature extremes.
10. Pass forklift and respirator fit tests.
11. Read, write, and speak English.

Education and Experience:

1. High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
2. Forklift experience preferred.
3. Manufacturing experience preferred.

Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

• Stand, walk, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl regularly.
• Use hands for handling objects and controls.
• Communicate verbally and visually for operation and safety.
• Use safety equipment as required.
• Exposure to moving parts, temperature extremes, dust, fumes, and noise.
