Cornerstone Building Brands in Londonderry, NH is seeking a Glass Cutting Machine Operator for 2nd shift (3:30 pm–2:00 am, Mon–Thu). You will set up, operate and maintain glass cutting machinery to produce components per specifications.

Ideal candidates have 2–5 years in quality/manufacturing, can read blueprints, measure precisely, and uphold safety standards. Starting pay is $19.50 per hour with a $1 shift differential. Benefits include comprehensive medical/dental/vision, PTO and 401k.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED.
• 2–5 years Quality/MFG experience in a non-electronics/non-food setting.
• Experience using measuring equipment (Tape Measure and Calipers).
• Basic reading of inspection equipment and technical drawings.
• Understanding quality systems and tolerances.
• Strong problem solving and process improvement aptitude.
• Proficient in MS Word and Excel.
• English reading/writing/speaking at an intermediate level.

Responsibilities

• Set up and operate glass cutting machines or CNC/hand tools.
• Read work orders, blueprints, and specs precisely.
• Measure, mark, and align glass sheets for accurate cuts.
• Monitor performance and adjust for precision.
• Inspect cut glass for defects and conformity.
• Handle glass safely using proper tools and lifting devices.
• Perform routine maintenance and minor repairs on machinery.
• Record production data and material usage.
• Follow waste disposal and material handling procedures.
• Adhere to safety protocols including PPE.
• Report malfunctions or quality issues to supervisors.
• Overtime as needed, typically Monday–Friday

JOB DETAILS

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

The Harvey the Glass Cutting Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and maintaining glass cutting machinery to produce glass components according to specifications. This role requires mechanical aptitude, precision, and adherence to safety and quality standards.

• Set up and operate glass cutting machines, CNC cutters, or manual cutting equipment.
• Read and interpret work orders, blueprints, and measurement specifications.
• Measure, mark, and align glass sheets to ensure accurate cuts.
• Monitor machine performance and adjust settings to maintain precision.
• Inspect cut glass for defects, accuracy, and quality compliance.
• Handle and move glass safely using appropriate tools and lifting equipment.
• Perform routine maintenance, cleaning, and minor repairs on machinery.
• Record production data, material usage, and job completion details.
• Follow proper procedures for waste disposal and material handling.
• Adhere to safety protocols, including PPE requirements and safe glass-handling practices.
• Report equipment malfunctions, hazards, or quality issues to supervisors.
• Additional overtime as required with notice, typically limited to Monday-Friday

Education & Experience Requirements:

• High School Diploma or General Education Degree (GED).
• 2 – 5 years Quality/MFG experience in a non-electronics/non-food setting
• Experience using Measuring Equipment (Tape Measure and Calipers required)
• Basic knowledge in use of inspection equipment and reading technical drawings
• Basic knowledge of quality systems and tolerances (+/-, passible defects, etc)
• Strong aptitude in process improvement and problem solving
• Strong computer skills (Microsoft Word and Excel)
• Must be able to read, write, and speak English at an intermediate level
